Somehow i downloaded a virus or worm or something... Now my home page is stuck and on "res://shdocie.dll/blank.html", i found the file shdocie.dll in C:\WINNT folder for windows 2000 pro but cannot get my regular home page back. This friggin worm or whatever also changed my desktop picture to all black with a warning message in it! I downloaded the ADAWARW program from microsoft and the SPYWARE blocker both from microsoft, neither seem to fix this problem. I have just been working around it for about a week now, how do i fix this??

Back up your data and reformat...it'll be easier in the long run.

You need to stop using Microsoft Internet Explorer and use Mozilla Firefox instead.
Firefox lets you install "extensions" that are FREE and very cool. For instance, you can get "NoScript" that blocks malicious scripts that try to download crap on your computer. NoScript also can block most of the ads and junk you see on websites.
My other favorite extension is Image Zoom. Lets you quickly enlarge any photo on a webpage.
I also use VideoDownloader that lets you download videos from YouTube and other such places.
That's all.
