i have discovered forums as finding like minded people, but i have found that i am having a hell of a time figuring out how a beginner like myself does more than just type like i'm doing right now... like inserting pictures into this post, i know about using free image posting sites...but like how do you embed thumbnails, or the actual pictures themselves, what is quc, co, lis, im, ur, and beyond what it means how do you can you use it to make a better post. what about the pictures, videoes people use as their signature, how the hell do you make one and embed it??, html is on bbcode, whats this??? you know.. forum basics 101, can anyone help and brake it down for me??? ( sorry i wrote so much)

to post a picture you need to use image tags [ img ] [/img ] (without the spaces...same with the other things

when replying you can see the different things about the text box, rolling over will show the syntax and clicking will insert a open and then a close tag....this is the bbcode

also there is imageshack hosting linked under the reply box as well.....imageshack will give you the bbcode with tags and all in place, they have one of the options as linked thumbnail....use that one for the bigger pics

as for embeded video, i don't know it off the top of my head, but it uses html its something like < embed src="url'' blah blah height= XX width= XX />
